It is well known that sailing on a catamaran is full of fun. Therefore, when vacation season comes, people across the world search for a better catamaran that can perfectly meet the needs of vacationers. Though a catamaran is fun to sail still there are several myths around this kind of outstanding vessel and this is what people from different parts of the world need to know which can perfectly make a great contribution to the vacationers’ expanded knowledge.
Here are some of the myths that are being busted on a catamaran.
1. Poor Dockage Availability
Catamarans are known for their comfort and stability. Unlike other vessels, these are best to spend some quality moments on the vacation – whether it’s in the Bahamas or the Med. However, a catamaran accommodating the width has also been associated with restricted dockage availability. Though it is true to some extent they are completely baseless right now. Since catamarans are high in popularity, it is quite interesting to hire them and keep all these things in mind while making all these types of things.
You’ll find that, whether you are on coastal cruising or ocean voyaging, you are mainly offered the space of the outside “T” docks that don’t present any problem for the catamarans. They sometimes offer slips that are too narrow for the yachts.
2. Poor Sailing Performance
Most people still believe that catamarans are not very flexible and they have a poor sailing performance which is blunt in the name of a catamaran. This is a myth that and it is possible with the older multi-hulls which were not upwind very well simply because a lot of things have been involved in this which is always a great way forward to come up with a better option that is not only doing something interesting but later the design allows the catamarans to sail proficiently without any additional hassle. So, the myth of poor performance is completely wrong.
3. Easily Capsize
People, who have never spent a single day on a catamaran, pass the statement that catamarans can be easily capsized. This is the reason many vacationers don’t prefer to spend their holidays on catamarans. However, the truth is that cursing catamarans are in a class of their own. The power to wait for the ratio is lower compared to other vessels and this is why there will be no question of capsizing under any condition. Rather, it will allow you to sail at any point of the sea and can be near any island without any additional hassle.
Most of the multihulls won’t get capsized in intense conditions. A catamaran in extreme conditions will round into the wind much like a monohull. This is the reason; it is not possible for a cruising catamaran to properly capsize from the extreme wind conditions. If there is any extreme rig then that can be avoided.
4. Catamarans Are Not Popular
Still, the myth about the Catamarans is that they are not popularcompared to the other vessels. This is completely wrong and many people still prefer these vessels compared to others to spend a memorable vacation.
