1) SEA LIFE London opened its doors in March of 1997. Yep, it’s about to turn 26 years old! It’s located on the south side of the River Thames right next to the un-missable London Eye observation wheel. SEA LIFE is open year round although opening and closing times may vary by season. If you are visiting London you may want to take the train/tube to the aquarium. If you are taking the train, the closest stops are Waterloo and Charing Cross. If arriving by London Underground, the nearest stations are Westminster (Circle, Jubilee & District Lines) or Waterloo (Northern, Bakerloo, Waterloo & City Lines).
2) The aquarium’s complex spans 3 floors, 14 exhibits and over 500 species. The current exhibits include: Shark Walk, Atlantic Coasts, Ray Lagoon, Ocean Tunnel, Open Oceans, Shipwreck, Coral Kingdom, Seahorse Kingdom, Rainforest Adventure, Rockpool Explorer, Polar Adventure, Conservation Cove, Shark Reef Encounter and Ocean Invaders.
3) The crazy aquatic stuff you’ll see? How about sharks, penguins, turtles, coral reef inhabitants, octopus, rays and rainforest species! Watch the undersea come to life before your eyes – equal parts learning and fascinating.
4) It’s for a good cause. Did you know that SEA Life supports a variety of critical conservation efforts around the world? These include animal protection, rescue and breeding programs, providing whale sanctuaries, beach cleanups, and more!

SEA LIFE also strives to make its facility accessible to those of all abilities. While they don’t offer a specially priced ticket for those with disabilities, they do provide a complimentary carer ticket for companions. There are handicapped accessible toilets, an open, flowing building architecture and elevators (known locally as “lifts”) to make movement easier. They also are aware that not all abilities and disabilities are visible – offering up a hidden disability green lanyard for those who may need it. For guests with epilepsy there are no strobe lights, but be aware some portions may show flash photography. Staff are nearby to assist. For pregnant women and those who may get tired of being on their feet for extended periods, limited seating is available.
